Author Biography

  • Rebecca Zola, Columbia University in the City of New York

    Rebecca Zola is an ethnomusicologist specializing in jazz and popular music, and is also a jazz musician. She is currently pursuing her PhD in ethnomusicology at Columbia University, and recently received a graduate certificate from Columbia's Institute for the Study of Sexuality and Gender. She received her Master's degree in musicology from Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Rebecca has published and presented her original research on gender in the jazz scene, and on the Israeli jazz scene.
