  • Julian Rushton, University of Leeds (UK)

    Julian Rushton is Professor Emeritus of the University of Leeds (UK). His publications focus mainly on opera and certain composers, Gluck, Mozart, Berlioz, Elgar; he edited volumes in the complete editions of the latter pair. He was general editor of the first series of Cambridge Music Handbooks; President of the Royal Musical Association, 1994–99; and Chairman of the Editorial Committee of Musica Britannica (1993–2009). He is a Corresponding Member of the American Musicological Society and was a director of the International Musicological Society (2007–17).
